Doing What Scares You

I’m not going to go around and pretend like I am a person who can go out and do whatever the heck I want even though the butterflies in my stomach are halfway up my throat. Neither am I going to say that I don’t wish I went out of my comfort zone more often than I do now. But what I can say is that the best things happen to you whenever you do the things that might scare you; whether that is applying to something, joining a club or talking to someone.

I know it is hard; taking the step towards what you truly want to do, but how is it supposed to happen unless you take action? Nothing falls from the sky even though we might wish they would at times.

Now, I don’t expect you to go out and do the biggest thing on your bucket list but take small steps towards your goal. Instead of directly shooting for becoming a superstar there might be small goals to put up for yourself, something you might be able to change in your everyday life. At the same time, don’t be scared to jump at an opportunity to do whatever you feel like doing. If there is a group for something you are interested in, who meet every once in a while, looking for new members, go for it. Don’t just say you’ll do it next time because there may never be a next time.

Be brave because you have the power to change your life for the better. What do you have to lose?
